Interstellar

Professor Dr. Avi Loeb from the Department of Astronomy, Harvard University, will talk about his book Interstellar and his group’s recent research from their expedition to retrieve fragments of the fireball off the western Pacific seafloor during 14-28th of June, 2023.

Dr. Avi Loeb is the Frank B. Baird Jr. Professor of Science at Harvard University. He received his PhD in Plasma Physics at age 24 from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1986 and was subsequently a long-term member at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton during 1988-1993, where he started to work in theoretical astrophysics. In 1993, he moved to Harvard University where he was tenured three years later.
